Love shopping at Costco and have a Costco credit card? Read on for important information.
Did you know that on March 4, Costco switched from Capital One Mastercard to CIBC Mastercard? If you haven’t already done so, you need to make sure that all payments made after March 4 are being applied to a CIBC account and not your Capital One account. If not, a late payment will be reported, and this will affect your credit score.
It’s easy to set up a CIBC account. Your credit card number, expiry date, and CVV will remain the same.
- Go to CIBC.COM/REGISTER to register your account and see your online statements
- Set up CIBC Mastercard as a new payee in your bank account and start making your payments to this card instead of Capital One
- After you’ve made your first payment to CIBC Mastercard, log in to your CIBC account and confirm the payment was received
-You’ll be sent a new credit card by September, but until then make sure any payments are being applied to CIBC.
